We also need lots of help getting things set up before the event, and during the event. So if you can help out, please let us know.

Hope to see lots of entries (and spectators!) on September 12th!!! New cross-country courses and jumps, lots of fun, come on out!

OH and there’s a new entrance to the Strathgartney Equestrian Park!! Turn onto McManus Road from the Trans Canada Highway (there is a left turn lane when coming from the East, and also a right turn lane coming from the West), at the end of McManus Road turn RIGHT onto Strathgartney Road, go to the end of the road and the new driveway is off the little roundabout at the end. Fall 2014

Well, our season for 2014 has wrapped up with a successful Autumn Horse Trial at Strathgartney Equine Park. I’d like to thank everybody for their help in making all our events happen this year, from the volunteers, sponsors, competitors, helpers, parents, everybody, you’re the reason we can pull it off.

Now it’s time to plan for 2015! If you have any ideas and can help out with anything, please contact one of the board members and let us know. We’ll be having our Annual General Meeting soon as well and will be voting in a new board of directors so if you’re willing and able to be on the board, we’d love to have you. Previous experience not required! There are no hard jobs. Our club cannot run without a board so it is vital we find some new members as some of our long time directors may need to take a break to focus on other things.

And last but not least, please vote for the Strathgartney Equine Park in the Aviva Community Fund. If we are not able to find funds to do necessary renovations to the park, we may not have the use of it next year, which would be a terrible loss to PEI’s horse community, especially the Eventing community.
You can vote for the park here: Strathgartney Equine Park Renovations

Thanks everybody for a great 2014 year, see you all next year!!

Final Event of 2014

Well, our last event of the year is almost here! The Strathgartney Autumn Horse Trial takes place on Saturday, September 13th at the Strathgartney Equine Park in Bonshaw.

Hope everybody is ready!!

See you all on Saturday! Come out and cheer on our competitors or lend a hand if you can.

Good luck to all riding!

David Wilding-Davies Clinic

Clinic starts today! Flat lessons today, then Jumping Saturday and Cross-country on Sunday. If you’re not riding in it, come out and watch! Also feel free to come to the Potluck BBQ on Saturday evening and have some fun. Bring a dish or snack to share if you can.

Ride times and daily location details can be found HERE.

It’s Time!

Show season is just about to begin, are you ready!?

The first Horse Trials PEI “event” of 2014 begins with our Clean up and Jump Building day at Strathgartney on May 17th. Please come out and lend a hand. Various odd jobs will need done, from picking up broken branches, fixing broken fence rails, cleaning the washroom and canteen, and of course, building new cross-country jumps again this year with the guidance of Mike Gallagher.

That same weekend, on Monday, Victoria Day, May 19th is our first horse event, with our Training Event. This is a great chance to get out and experience what a Horse Trial is like and get a feel for how things work and what division you’re really ready for. Our first Horse Trial of the year is less than 5 weeks after the Training Event, so it’s great to help you figure out where you are in your training and what you’re ready for before attending an official Horse Trial.

Here is the link for the Training Event Entry Form

Now that fields and trails are finally starting to dry up, I hope you’re all conditioning your horses well for a good gallop around the cross-country course.

Happy Riding!

Get ready for the new year!
