Well, 2020 is behind us, some may say not soon enough. Although, HTPEI managed to pull off a pretty decent year all things considered. We sadly had to cancel a couple events, but managed to hold some of them later in the year, and did still have a couple competitions. Congratulations to all our members and HUGE thanks to all our volunteers! You were all amazing. Here are the Year End Award Results.
One year ago we held our Training Camp with Ruth Allum, and right after that is when you-know-what hit and things came to a splayed out, totally not square halt for a while. BUT, we’re super excited to kick 2021 off with Ruth again, albeit via online sessions this time, so please join us! For more info, check out our event page here.
And remember, you can stay up-to-date with our facebook page as well, Horse Trials PEI.
Well it’s a new year! We’re kicking off the training season with a great Athlete Development Training Camp with Ruth Allum on Feb 29/Mar 1. Check out the Events section for info and forms!
Awards and Fun night! We have a great social time coming up on Feb 1st, we’ll hand out our Awards and then have a great time playing games and eating! Location is 69 Hazelgrove Road, Hunter River.
We also have a new Facebook Page as well as our Facebook Group, so you can keep up to date with all the HTPEI events through those two pages as well.
Starting 2019 off with a bang! Don’t miss out on the Equestrian Athlete Development Training Camp with Ruth Allum, February 15-17, 2019.
A great opportunity to get ready for the fast approaching show season!

As Island eventers know, the Strathgartney Equestrian Park is a vital part of Horse Trials PEI being able to hold their events. It has the only EC certified cross-country course in PEI, and offers 5 levels for training and competition. It’s located in the beautiful hills of Bonshaw. Island riders of all disciplines are lucky to have the opportunity to take advantage of this beautiful facility throughout the showing and training season.
Horse Trials PEI is not the only club to use the park and it’s open to all clubs and disciplines for anything from shows, to clinics, to just going for a leisurely ride around the grounds. It provides a safe, affordable facility for all equestrians on PEI to have a place to train and compete, from grassroots to high performance.
Age and lack of funding have taken it’s toll on the park the last few years, and it’s time for some renovations. Construction began on the two show rings in the fall of 2017, with the goal being to have them completed in time for the 2018 show season. Horse Trials PEI is holding a “200 Club” fundraiser to help raise money to support this work. Information can be found on the “Fundraiser for Strathgartney Equestrian Park” event page.
Contact Horse Trials PEI to get tickets or for more information.
Thank you for supporting the Strathgartney Equestrian Park and Island equestrians.
